WHITMAN, Ronald Howard-passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at C.E.E Hospital, Petrolia with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Nancy (McGill) for 65 years. Loving father of Cathy Whitman of Brigden, John Whitman of Brigden, Todd (Matthew) Whitman of Sarnia and Lynn (Joel) Kautz of Edmonton and special grandfather of Alex Kautz. Dear brother of Florence Briggs and Dorothy Johnson. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Helen Whitman and his siblings Katherine Evans, Ralph Whitman and Lloyson “Bub” Whitman. Survived by many friends, cousins and nieces and nephews. Ron will be missed by all who knew him. Ron was known has the “Camera Man” because he loved to take picture and always had his camera with him. Ron worked as the clerk for Moore Township for many years, he was also a manger for Nova Scotia Bank. Ron was a long time member of the Brigden Legion and the Brigden Leopold Lodge. A special thank you to all the staff at C.E.E Hospital for the compassion and care they provided.

A private family funeral service took place at Steadman Brothers Funeral Home.

I fondly remember Ron when he worked as Clerk in Moore Township. Interesting guy for sure with a great sense of humour. He also was a great friend to my uncle John Irwin. May your memories bring you comfort.

Ron was a character for sure. Deepest sympathy to Nancy and their children. Ron was a proud family man who encouraged all their endeavours. I have many fond memories of working with Mr. Whitman, at that time we showed respect for both Ron and Eric Butt, never calling by first names. Keep your memories close at this difficult time and share with those you love.
