Oriet Jr., Freddy

October 27, 1948 ~ March 06, 2026

1Alfred L. Oriet Jr., known to many as “Freddy,” of Inwood, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bluewater Health on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Donna (Dewhirst) for 58 years and son of the late Alfred and Mary Oriet. Loving father of Cheryl (Al) and Gerry (Amy). He was predeceased by his son Owen. Proud grandfather of Taylor (James) and Brett (Olivia), loving great-grandfather of Thomas and Lennon. He was predeceased by his grandson Tyler. Dear brother of Jean (the late Paul), Betty (Doug), and Pat (Rob). He will be missed by his in-laws from Donna’s family: the late Bruce (the late Marion); Carl (the late Cathy); the late Maxine (the late Jim); the late Paul (Gwen); Ruth (the late Paul); Roy (Joan); Ron (Connie); and Al. Freddy will be missed by all who knew him. He and Donna were the proud owners of Inwood Grocery & Catering for 38 years. Freddy loved to tease anyone who came into the store—if he teased you, you knew he liked you. He was known for making the best roast beef for community events, and everyone looked forward to it. He was a devoted supporter of the London Knights and worked tirelessly fundraising for his community. He also looked forward to Sunday nights at the casino. Freddy’s kindness, humour, and dedication to his family and community will be remembered by many.
