25e30d89 6f2e 4858 978e 59635c4b95fbElsbeth Arlene McCormick, age 80, of Petrolia, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Bluewater Health. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayne McCormick. Loving mother of Heath (Natalie) McCormick, Ian McCormick, and Blyth (Jimmy) McCallum. Cherished grandmother of Astrid and Hazel; Lucy and Harley; and Penny, Savvy, and Addy, along with their mother, Allison. Dear sister of Cheryl (Bill) Seele and predeceased by her brother, Martin (Chris) Thalgott. Predeceased by her parents, Ed and Betty Thalgott. Elsbeth, affectionately known as “Ellie,” will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Elsbeth and Wayne met in Michigan while she was a teacher and Wayne was training thoroughbred horses. She was passionate about McCormick Insurance, decorating the town of Brigden, and spending time with her dear friends and family. She enjoyed time on the golf course and her vacations to the Bahamas. Her kindness, sense of humour “leave them laughing” and dedication to those she loved will be remembered always. Elsbeth never missed a birthday or anniversary. She was a woman who loved finding the perfect gift for others, always putting the happiness of her friends and family ahead of her own. Her thoughtfulness and generosity will always be remembered. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bluewater Health for their compassionate care and support.
