GRAY, Howard Melvin, age 84 of Courtright, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love at Bluewater Health Mitton Street Site Sarnia on Sunday, November 1, 2009. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Margaret for 63 years. Beloved and respected father of Connie and Ross Ptolemy of Sarnia. Grandpa was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kevin Ptolemy and Robin Meehan and her husband Jeremy. Dear brother of Iris Dunn and Margaret Crawford, and dear brother-in-law of Helen Vandevenne, Dorothy Pettit and Judy Grant. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Jeanette Gray, sister Mina Finch and brother Alex. Howard was born in Ernfold Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario in 1934. He was a retired construction pipefitter and proud member of Local 663 for 55 years. Howard was a faithful member and supporter of Calvary United Church and later Brigden United Church. An avid baseball, hockey and sports enthusiast, he was instrumental in the founding of Moore Sports Complex, and a board member for a number of years. Howard was well known as a staunch defender of his personal and political views, and was always prepared for a heated discussion.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. Rev. Sandra Fogarty officiating. Interment in Bear Creek Cemetery.
