James StephensSTEPHENS, James “Jim“ William – Age 86 formerly of R.R.#1 Brigden, lovingly surrounded by his family passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. Survived by his devoted wife Ilabelle Stephens (nee Campbell) of 50 years. Jim set a fine example for his sons Scott (Susan) of Brigden and John (Missy) of Sarnia. Caring grandfather of Jill, Luke and Oliver Stephens. Survived by his sister Mrs. Eleanor “Stevie“ (Robert) Newman of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, sister-in-laws Mildred Stephens and Jean Armitage and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Will and Helen (Heddle) Stephens, brother Byron “Barney“ Stephens and brother-in-law Gordon Armitage. Jim operated a dairy farm and Stephens Brothers Farm Machinery with his brother Barney for several years, was a Life Member of the Brigden Leopold Lodge #397, a member of Brigden United Church and an active member of Plum Creek Community. Jim was a gentle man and his trade mark saying was “keep smiling“.

Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 with a Masonic Service at 6:45 pm.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. Rev. Sandra Fogarty officiating. Interment in Bear Creek Cemetery.
