ARNOLD, William John – Age 91, of Sarnia formally of Wilkesport, passed away at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Thursday, January 06, 2022. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Capes) for 71 years. Loving father of Marie (Jerry) Shephard, John (Brenda) Arnold and Sandra (Dan) Douglas. Special grandfather of Michelle (Kevyn) Irwin, Erin (Dawn) Shephard, Amy (Jason) Wadsworth, Chad (Karen) Arnold and Matthew (Jennifer) Douglas and great grandfather of Keelor Irwin, Kori Irwin, Killian Irwin, Alyssa Wadsworth, Brett Wadsworth, Leigh Arnold, Audrey Arnold, Sam Shephard, Greta Shephard, Aven Douglas and Reid Douglas. Dear brother of Keith Arnold (Joanne), survived by brother -in-law Jim (Pat) Capes and sister-in-law Pat (John) Tyson. Predeceased by his parents Rex and Ferne (nee Harris), and sister-in-law Marguerite (Russ) Murphy. Bill will be missed by many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews and all who knew him. Bill dedicated his life to baseball and he was inducted to the Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame as a baseball pitcher and for the Wilkesport Tigers baseball team.

Funeral Details
A private family funeral service will take place at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Saturday, January 08, 2022 at 1pm. Friends and family can join us on Zoom https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86887322836

    As batboy for the Wilkesport Tigers, I always looked up to Bill and the other players as my heroes. A few years later as I tackled the guitar I came to really appreciate Bill’s musical talent. He was a super guitar player. RIP

  20. Growing up in Wilkesport area I had the pleasure of having Bill as a baseball coach.He showed me a lot of the finer points about pitching.Will be missed by everyone.
