BABCOCK, Kenneth Lloyd – Age 82, formerly of Brigden and Corunna, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Fiddick’s Nursing Home, Petrolia. Beloved husband of Grace Babcock (nee Gilliland) for 63 years. Loving father of Carol Willsie of Forest, Connie (Mike) Jaques of Texas and Doug (Luann) Babcock of Brigden. Cherished grandfather of Heather (Brent) Ropp, Penny (Tim) Halliday, James (Leah) Willsie, Greg (Christine) Babcock, Scott (Julie) Babcock, Samantha (Jake) Duffy. Great-grandfather of Ken, Dominik, Gracie, Jacob, Hailey, Rebecca, Ellie, Rae and Jak. Dear brother of the late Walter (late Helen) Babcock, late Ron (late Phyllis) Babcock, Maryrose (Bruce) Annett, Ilene (Ross) Annett. Predeceased by his parents Eva and Harold Babcock. Ken spent his early years working for local farmers but most of his career with Moore and St. Clair Township. He was a volunteer firefighter in Brigden for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Brigden Optimist Club for many years and on the committees that brought many improvements to the Brigden Park, including lights for the baseball diamond, the pavilion and the tennis courts. Special thanks to the staff at Fiddick’s Nursing Home for their care and compassion over the years.

Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS on Wednesday December 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Funeral service held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00am from the funeral home. Interment to follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.

    I am so sorry for your loss. As a child, I will always remember playing at the Babcock home on Main St. in Brigden and hearing Ken’s chuckle. He was such a kind person and always had a twinkle in his eye. He accomplished a lot in Brigden and he will be missed. May the entire family be comforted by the fond memories of Ken at this difficult time. I am out of town at this time. Otherwise, I would love to be able to attend this service and share memories of your husband/dad in person.

He worked for the betterment of the community, and always considered improvements which would benefit all members of our town. His service will be remembered!

    So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Do know you are in our thoughts and prayers. This always seems like such a hard time for a death, but as I know it happens many times at Christmas. It seems like ages since we (Allan and Lynnda Burr) saw you folks.
