Condolences (19)

  1. A year ago in Brisbane, I got the call from my brother to learn of dad’s death. Today, as I read the words posted below, I feel gratitude for the condolences and for the kindness expressed by our childhood neighbours and community. It is a comfort to know that while there are sides of dad that were not known to everyone, he is recognised for being a proud farmer, a hard worker, and someone who enjoyed a story and laugh. Thank you. bb

  2. I’m so sorry to hear of Rudy’s passing. We were/are both members of Carpenters Local 1256, and I can honestly say he was the best partner I ever had. An unbelievably hard worker and a lot of fun. My condolences to the family and Dorothy. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest easy old friend.

  3. Today I saw Nic Baumgartner at our Restaurant in Flaach, Switzerland and he told me about the passing of Rudy. I met him when he stayed at our small hotel here in Flaach. At that time my husband and I were running the place. He was a lovely Person and I’m very sorry for your loss .

  4. To Rob and the rest of the Baumgartner family.
We met your dad about 5 years ago at the west Lorne dance…That day he was alone and we invited him to sit with us, which began our friendship with him. He was always cheerful around us, most kind and appreciative. Whenever he was there, and in later years with Dorothy, we always stopped to have a chat with him. Dorothy took good care of him after the surgery and when we saw him last Feb., they got up and danced again. We will miss seeing him. May good memories of your father and friend, remain with you forever.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. My heart goes out to you at this very sad time.
Please accept my condolences to you and your family.

  7. Rudy was my good friend and good neighbor. We spent hours talking about so many things. He’d give “advice” every time and then apologize for telling me what to do. That’s the way he was with me. I’d say.. “it’s all good Rudy”. “I always learn something every time we talk”. We talked about the good old days and also the present and the future. He was a very smart man and very knowledgeable. He read books to no end. Rudy hired me to cut hay for him when he wasnt able to operate the tractor and he paid me very well. We augered in fence post holes and trimmed trees on the fence line. He hired me to help him pour the footings for his new house. It was always a pleasure working for Rudy. Nobody worked harder than Rudy and he loved his farm life and raising cattle so much. I will miss my old friend ! RIP Rudy. My sincere sympathy to his family.

  8. Our deepest sympathy to Rudy’s family, Dorothy and his friends. We always enjoyed his presence and humor whenever we visited Denis and Liz in Sombra. He was always available for a cheese fondue or whatever good meal Denis and Liz were serving. We will miss his laughter. Rest In Peace Rudy.

  9. To Ursula and family,
Words can’t express how saddened we are to hear of the loss of your father. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

  10. Such a gentleman. Always enjoyed his stories when we would see each other. The bond of trust for those he cared about was genuine. Sincere sympathy to Rudy’s family and friends.

  11. To Rudy’s family and Dorothy. We are so sad to hear of Rudy’s passing. Him and Jay have spent a lot of time together over the years farming. Since I came along I have also enjoyed his visits and calls. We had a good summer with him this summer with many visits and doing hay together. We were just talking last week about getting in contact again as it had been too long. Sorry we were too late. Sending lots of love.

  12. Condolences to the Baumgartner Family. Rudy was the “Dr. Pol” of Sombra Township with his treatments for swine and beef livestock. We enjoyed many personal visits at the house as well as the roadside visits when crop touring and checking livestock. He was an interesting and loyal neighbour to our family. RIP Rudy.

  13. We are saddened and shocked to hear of Rudy’s passing.
Rudy has been a friend and neighbour for years and years.
Over the years Rudy has voluntarily came to our assistance many times with advice , help and information dealing with farming.. Rudy loved his farm, especially his cattle and of course his hay. Beautiful cattle.
Rudy wuld stop by for a visit . He culd be stubborn and head strong but that is something I liked about, him.
Just last summer I took a video of Rudy helping my son bale hay. I am so glad I took that video and will be sending it to family members.
    RIP my friend,
    Will miss you stopping in.
Our sincere condolences to Rudy’s family.
