BICUM, Selma – After a life well loved, Selma, wife of the late Gordon Bicum (2018), passed quietly in her sleep in her 96th year at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She will be missed by her 8 great-grandchildren. Her adored grandchildren have many cherished memories to reflect upon. She was infinitely proud of them all. She will be mostly missed by her four children, Brenda (Michael), Debora (Phil), Lisa (Geoff) and Steve (Lisa). Selma had always been an active member of her church and community. She was happiest when her hands were busy. Supporting many with her talented sewing and gifted piano and organ playing. She was a true and loyal friend. Deepest gratitude goes out to the kind and caring staff at Lambton Meadowview Villa who helped Mum along on the final leg of her journey with dignity and grace. Mum always had a welcoming pot of soup on the stove and a fresh batch of cookies in the jar. All were welcome.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Port Lambton United Church (466 WILLIAM Street, Port Lambton, ON N0P 2B0) with a visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Sombra and reception at Sombra Community Hall.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the charity of your choice.

A journey remembered
as some people
journey through life, they leave footprints
wherever they go—footprints of kindness
and love, courage and compassion, humor
and inspiration, joy and faith. Even when they’
re gone, we can still look back and clearly
see the trail they left behind
A trail bright with hope that invites us
to follow.
Praying you’ll be comforted
with precious memories
and God’s presence to care for
you in your loss.
With deepest sympathies
