CLOUATRE, Alfred Edward “Butch” – Age 74, passed away on May 28, 2018 on the riverbank, Sarnia doing something he loved, fishing. Born March 06, 1944 and was a lifelong resident of Petrolia. Beloved father of Tammy (Lorne) Liddiard and Jim Clouatre (Hillary Debyshire). Special companion to Verna Helps. Cherished grandfather to Nash (Lori) Liddiard, Brent Liddiard, Josh Clouatre and step grandfather to Codee Dunn. Great grandfather to Morgan Liddiard, Olivia Liddiard and Devyn Clouatre. Brother of Leo (Liz) Clouatre, Emile (Janice) Clouatre, Esther (Casey) Vander Lucik, Cathy (Dave) Quimet and Janet (Rich) Worsley. Predeceased by brothers Andre and George Clouatre and daughter-in-law Bonnie Clouatre. Butch will be sadly missed by Steven, Michelle, Ashley and Harley Helps, several nieces and nephews and friends. Butch loved fishing, bow hunting and gardening. Butch owned and ran AL’s Roofing for 46 years in Petrolia.

Funeral Details
A private family visitation was held at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden. A private graveside service was held at Wyoming Cemetery.

    I was so saddened to hear about your dad’s death. Had not seen him in years until about a month ago when I ran into him at Munchie’s. He recognized me from way back when on Eureka Street and I commented that he still looked the same, which he did! He was always such a kind, funny man and while your hearts are surely breaking, you all have such wonderful memories of a dad who loved you all so much. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

To Jim and Tammy and your families, and Verna and your family: I am very happy that I was able to have a coffee and a visit with Butch at the Farmers Market Grand Opening last Saturday… I had thought of Butch often, thinking we needed to get together. He was a good friend who I’ve known for over 50 years. Butch was a good guy, he had integrity, and he liked to laugh. Sincere Condolences to you all. Butch will be missed.
