scanDAWSON, GERALD DOUGLAS – Age 74 of Oil City peacefully passed away on September 16, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia. Gerry will be greatly missed by his friend and wife for 50 years, Pat Dawson. Loving Father to Melissa Haskett, Michael Dawson and Pamela Talbot. Special Grandfather to Hayley and Emily Haskett, Spencer and Tyler Talbot and Brooke and Jackson Dawson. Dear Brother of Doreen Klapak and Catherine (Art) Sterling. Gerry will be remembered by Brother and sister in-laws Barb and Bill MacNeil, Joanne Wagner, Betty Wagner, Sylvia and Allan Knight and Lynn and Ross Howes. Predeceased by Brother Keith, brother-in-law’s Joe Klapak, Lyle and Glen Wagner and Sister-in-law Ann Wagner. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Gerald worked for Holmes Foundry for 25 years, he was an avid fisherman, loved carpentry and was a passionate volunteer.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 5-9 pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00am from the funeral home.Interment to follow at Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia.

DONATIONS
In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice or Children’s Health Foundation, London (Cheques only).

  38. Uncle Jed, thank you for all of the memories. Not many people (especially my age) can say they knew and/or are/were close to their great aunts and uncles, but fortunately I can say I was. Thank you for being the kind soul you were, thank you for your encouragement and jokes, thank you for all of the fires in your backyard and thank you for being like another grandparent to me. You will be so greatly missed but I know you’re in a better place watching and protecting over everyone you hold dear to you.
