July 5, 1926 ~ January 22, 2018

DeRooy, June (nee Naylar) – Age 91, formerly of Courtright, passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday, January 22, 2018 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late William DeRooy. June was the loving mother to Evan (Jo-Ellen) DeRooy, David (Karen) DeRooy, Yvonne (Victor) Lavoie. Cherished grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 14. June was the daughter of the late Richard William and Maude Alice (Sherratt) Naylar. Survived by her dear sister-in-law Elsie DeRooy and her family as well as nieces, nephews and cousins from England, Montreal and Austalia. Predeceased by her brother Peter (Christina) Naylar. June loved to dance, go on trips, play scrabble, but by far loved being with her three kids, their spouses and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on the farm.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE
A funeral service will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.

DONATIONS
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice or Alzheimer Society.

I was fortunate enough to meet June and when I had the opportunity to speak with here when she came to Windsor she was always so delightful. She had such a nice smile and good sense of humour. She lived a long life and you need to cherish all the wonderful memories you have of her. I am sorry I cannot be there for the funeral but please know you will all be in my prayers.     Sorry for the passing of my cousin June. When I was in Canada as a kid for a few months June and Pete and family looked after me at times also my mum Dolly were gratefull over many years. June’s mum and Dolly were sisters being part of the Sherratt clan from UK. We were lucky to see June 18 months ago which was great.
