  1. My condolences to you Anne and all of Lois’s loving family. I did leave a note on the Observer site but just wanted to add how much I respected your mother; so sharp and interested in everything. I am sorry I had lost track of her and of time. The months and years just rolled by. I loved sitting in the garden with Lois and just chatting. I am very thankful to have known her and having met you. A special lady. Audrey Hamilton

  2. Anne, I am very Sorry about Lois passing we will all really miss her. Lois had told me years ago when this day came that i might have to remind you of some great tradition that you might have to carry on such as making me those great knitted mitts and hats, and birthday cards with money in it for me. You have big shoes to fill. Thinking of you and missing the Best aunt

  3. Anne and family, I have a lot of memorable moments with Aunt Lois. During my high school years she would give me a ride to school and I would walk over and meet her at Devine St. School where she was teaching .I will always remember the expressions on the little ones she was teaching ,it was evident they loved Mrs. Dixon, as we all do.
Thinking of you at this time, Suzanne and Paul

  4. Judy and Lois’ family
My thoughts to you as over the years my Mom (Barb (Selman) Ferguson, has always spoken so highly of all of you and the close bonds you share.
Such a difficult time when sharing your loss has to be handled in a much different way then you may have wanted.
She must have been so pleased for you and your latest made with love projects! Mom said you have been very busy.
Enjoy your time with Todd when you can get there.
LOIS will be sure to be welcomed with open arms by the Wilkesport Community in eternity.

  5. We offer our sincere condolences Sue to you and your entire family.
Even though I did not know your mom really well I felt like I did because of the many stories that Jeannette her special sister shared with me over the years she certainly lived a beautiful full life.
She was also so proud of you and your entire family God bless you all may she rest in peace ..
    Ollie & Janet Smith

  6. We are very sorry to hear about Lois’s passing. I have a lot of memories of Lois, one being of a good sister-in-law and the other being a great teacher. Keeping you in my thought, Anne, Sue and families, take care.

  7. Aunt Lois was very fortunate to have loving children and grandchildren to care for her. Our deepest sympathy to you Anne, Sue and families. When I was nine she gave me a fairytale book for Christmas and after all these years it still sits on my bookshelf. After my parents passed she would call occasionally from Sue and Grant’s to catch up and I always enjoyed her sharp wit. Being a teacher she was expected to have legible handwriting but hers far surpassed it. Her script was exceptionally beautiful. So happy that she got to know her great grandson Myles.

  8. Anne, Sue and families: sorry to hear of Aunt Lois’s passing! There are many fond memories of years ago in the Avonroy community! Aunt Lois will always be remembered for being such a great teacher! Jerry and I will always remember her for being a wonderful aunt and neighbour!

  9. My sympathy to you Anne and Sue and your families. Lois taught me all thru public school and I can honestly say they have very few great teachers like her anymore.. rip Lois

  10. Anne and family. Saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was blessed with long life and a loving family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Big hugs from all of us.

  11. To Anne & Family
Wishing I could be there, I will treasure all my great memories of Aunt Lois. A lot of great times between her place and Aunt Edna’s. When I was five she gave me a coconut purse that I love and still have.
Rest in Peace Aunt Lois Love your Niece Rhonda

  12. Our Sympahys to you Anne & Grant and your family. I remember your mom and dad because I grew up in Wilkesport and went to Wilkesport United Church.

  13. Anne, Kate, Matthew and family.
I was saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. Lois was a very unique woman and I have had the pleasure of knowing her for 50 years. She was an active part of the growing years for her grandchildren and she was loved by her family. Her turn came to have the love and help returned in her later years by her daughter, Anne, who always went the extra mile and grandchildren who helped make the last few years much better than they would have been without them. She was very blessed to have the family she had, she knew it and loved them for it. Life will not be the same without her. Rest in Peace Lois.
