JEFFREY, Helen Edith (nee Wray) – Went to be with her dear husband, Stuart Roy Jeffrey (2004), on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her residence in Sombra at the age of 86. Loving mother of Ron (Audrey) Jeffrey, Neil (Maureen) Jeffrey, Roy (Lisa) Jeffrey and the late Bruce Jeffrey (2013). Cherished grandmother of Katherine, Kelley, Nathan (Jamie), Bryan (Tara), Dustin (Carly) and Justin Jeffrey. Great-grandmother of Avery, Hallie, Andrew and Jake Jeffrey, Addison, Macy and Parker Jeffrey, Nash and Tye Jeffrey. Dear sister of Rosalee (late Leslie) Long. Predeceased by her parents Alva and Edith Wray, sisters Pauline Levey and Caroline Minielly. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Unwavering in spiritual faith, long-time member of Calvary United Church where she led choir to pursue her love of music. Helen loved bowling and her card parties, was involved with Brigden Fair for many years, was an award winning quilt maker, made delicious butter tarts and loved spending time with her family.

A private Family visitation and service was held at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden. Interment at Bear Creek Cemetery.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Port Lambton United Church or Alzheimer Society.

  11. I was deeply saddened to hear of Helen’s sudden passing. She was a formidable force and the thought of anything stopping her is beyond comprehension. She was a great and true friend to our mum, Selma Bicum. She even had popped in to drop off some food just this past Friday. Helen will be greatly missed by our mum and by her church community.   21. Dear Neil and Jeffrey Family, Our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. I met Mrs Jeffrey approximately three years ago when we moved to Sombra. We always seemed to be out for a walk at the same time and would cross paths. We would always stop to talk about gardening, weather and the river. When she would walk by our house she would always turn and wave. I’ll miss seeing her and our chats. She was a very kind lady and we are truly sorry for your loss.

Simply put, Helen was an amazing neighbour. 10 years ago, she welcomed us into our new home with a plate of her famous Butter Tarts and a lasting friendship was established. We enjoyed her company very much and were always impressed with her faith, fortitude, willpower and ability to care for herself and her property. We will miss her greatly and count ourselves fortunate for the time we got to spend with her.
