LeConte, Howard

March 24, 1924 ~ May 16, 2020

Le CONTE, Howard Keith- It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Howard Keith Le Conte of Sarnia, and formerly of Brigden, on May 16, 2020 in his 97th year, following a valiant struggle with Covid-19. Dear son of the late Francis and Margaret (Clubb) Le Conte. Beloved husband of more than 67 years to the late Margaret (Nicol) LeConte (2014). Loving father to Brian (Ann) of Ottawa and Ian (Wendy) of Sarnia. Predeceased by a precious daughter Jane (Robert) Hanson of Ottawa (2012) and a dear daughter-in-law Joan of Sarnia (2005). Sadly missed by 9 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Also predeceased by his brothers Bill (Ann), Ross (Rene), Erle (Marjorie) and sisters Olive (Bill) Bass and Jean (Bruce) Salisbury. The family would like to thank the staff of Vision Nursing Home and prior to that Twin Lakes Retirement Home for the care and kindness shown to Howard over the last several years. Howard was a long-time member of Brigden United Church. He was a 70 plus year member of the Leopold Masonic Lodge No. 397 of Brigden, was an avid curler and golfer, as well as a hockey and baseball fan. After moving to Sarnia in 2008, he and Margaret enjoyed attending London Road West United Church.  Howard had a long career at Polysar and prior to that had been a wheelsman aboard the Noronic.

Due to current pandemic restrictions, a private service will be held at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, Brigden and burial will take place at Bear Creek cemetery. A celebration of Howard’s Life will take place with Family at a later date.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to any of the following charities (cheques may be mailed to the funeral home): Brigden United Church, Alzheimer’s Society of Sarnia, or charity of your choice.
