Maw, Jean

August 29, 1932 ~ November 30, 2015

rsz_1maw_picMAW, Jean Marguerite (Eyre) – Age 83 of Moore Township passed away with her loving family at her side on Monday, November 30, 2015 at St Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia. Devoted wife of Howard Maw for 59 years. Loving mother of Jim & Brenda Maw and Marie Maw. Cherished grandmother of Kyle & Julie Maw, Devon Maw and Lacey & David Eramo. Special great-grandmother to Logan Maw. Dear sister of Russell & Shirley Eyre, Arthur & Karen Eyre and Melba & Jerry Duncan. Sister-in-law to Shirley & Russell Eyre and Diane & Jack Stewart. Treasured by many family and friends. Predeceased by brother Ralph Eyre (1951); parents Elvin (1967) & Lila (1990) Eyre; and sister-in-law Doris (2013) & Bill (1995) Hitchcock. The eternal educator, Jean’s passion for teaching was always apparent in everything she taught including school, baking and gardening. Her famous baked goods always received high bids at local charity auctions. Her love of rural life and dairy cows followed her beyond living on the farm as she always continued to have a keen interest in the farming operations of the next generations. The ‘tart lady’ will be sadly missed by many at Brigden Housing, Moore Agricultural Society, Sixth Line United Church, the former Moore Centre Women’s Institute and many other worthwhile organizations. Thanks to the compassionate staff and volunteers at St Joseph’s Hospice.
