  14. My condolences to the entire family of Margaret (Maggie) McKellar for the loss of your precious loved one through this shocking and untimely death. Below I have written a story about Maggie that I hope warms your heart.

Maggie is In The Garden of My Heart by Cherie Barnett

Maggie was the little sister that I chose for myself.

She was the most patient, loyal, understanding, and cheerful friend.

She was a talented proofreader, that identified thirty mistakes in a document that I asked her to review after I had gone over it with, what I thought was a fine tooth comb. That showed her amazing skill and eye for detail.

She was also a daughter, an aunt, a mother, a grandmother, and wife to her loving husband,Don. Of course you know all that. But there are some things that you do not know.

She shared her sunshine with me in her lovely smile and she brought out the joy and often the sillies in me, in addition, she was a role model for me.

She encouraged me in the area of personal nutrition because of the way she worked so hard to live with PKU and she made me realize that it is so important to learn about the right nutrition for myself.

I miss her terribly already. My only consolation is the wonderful memories that we made together, especially on our last visit, which was on my porch in rattan chairs twelve feet apart.
We each had an apple and  we laughed when I said that I didn’t know how I had yellow tulips in my garden because I never planted them. I continued by saying; I think that tulip seeds aren’t small enough for the birds to carry and she had to remind that tulips have bulbs not seeds. We laughed so hard together.
I am also thankful for the treasured new friends that I have made because of her.

There will always be a rattan rocker waiting for Maggie in the garden of my heart.

  15. Oh Don our sincere sympathies to you and Amanda and Tim.
    With love,Doug and Margaret Thomon

  18. I am so sorry for your loss. Margaret was my friend and my cousin and I will miss her. We reconnected when I moved back to the area in 2013.
