MULLER, Eric – formerly of Brigden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the age of 97 at Fiddick’s Retirement and Nursing Home, Petrolia. He was married to the late Joan (Davidson) for 61 years. Born July 25, 1923 in Dryden, he served in WW-II driving tanks with the Royal Canadian Armoured Division in England, Belgium, France, Holland and Germany. After the war, he married Joan from Winnipeg. They raised their 6 children in Sarnia and Brigden where he was a proud member of the Local 663 as a pipefitter/Welder since 1951. Eric is predeceased by his wife Joan (2009), son Chris (2005), brother Rudy Schinkman of Dryden, sisters Annie Alyward and Freida Alyward of B.C, and infant great-granddaughters Patricia and Joanne Kraemer. He is survived by his children David Muller of Lethbridge, Bob (Betty) Muller of Dorchester, Bill Muller of Sutton, Don (Margaret) Muller of Camlachie, Pat (Dave) Kraemer of Sarnia and Leslie (the late Chris) Vye (Frank) of Brigden. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family wishes to thank Kathleen and Anne and the staff and volunteers at Fiddick’s Retirement and Nursing Home for their loving care and attention to Eric over the past 3 years. Words cannot express our thanks and gratitude to Eric’s wonderful Personal Care Worker, Margaret Wightman, who tended to Eric every week for many years until the Covid-19 restrictions.

Funeral Details
Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow. Arrangements entrusted to STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, BRIGDEN.

Donations in memory of Eric can be made out to Brigden Optimist Club or Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 635 Brigden would be most appreciated.

  3. Leslie, Frank and family. was surprised to see Eric was 97. Remember him riding down the road on his bike to Brigden.
    While completing is errands we would have a chat, even saw him in Park Place a few times. Sure that many will have a few memories to share with you that will bring a tear to your eye but also a smile. A sad time for your family but with your faith you and he will be at peace.

    Eric was a great fellow. I remember him especially as my right hand strong man helping me with the Entertainment Tent for many years at Brigden Fair as well as setting up the Exhibition Hall. No task was ever too big for Eric. He lived a long life and you will have many great memories of him and your Mom ,Joan. Great people in the Brigden Community.
