PROUSE, Jean Loretta (nee Shepperd) – Age 71, of Mooretown, passed away Frirday, March 3, 2017 in Niagara Falls where she began her 50 year marriage with her beloved husband Kenneth Prouse. Loving mother of Laurie Prouse (Scott), Tracey Prouse and Heather (Jamie) Hamill. Cherished grandmother of Seamus, Danielle and Bronwyn Hamill. Dear sister of Bruce Shepperd, Frank (Marie) Shepperd and Donald (Winera) Shepperd. Survived by sister-in-laws Margaret (James) Shepperd and Pat (Ronald) Shepperd. Survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Violet Shepperd, brothers Ronald and James, sisters Aileen and Helen and infant grandsons Aidan and Brent Hamill. Jean trained at the Sarnia General Hospital and spent her career as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Women’s missionary society (WMS) in Mooretown and a former leader with the 4-H Club and CGIT. Jean donated her organs to help save others.

Visitation
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 7-9pm.

Funeral Service
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00am from the funeral home. Rev. Ian Marnoch will officiate. Cremation will follow.

Donations
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation on the behalf of Aidan and Brent Hamill.

    Just today I was telling a friend about the beautiful afghan that a special lady had knitted for us when we got married 43 years ago. And then tonight I read the news of Jean’s passing. I am so sad. We were all blessed to have known her. Hugs.

  10. I will remember Jean as always being so warm and friendly towards Linda and I. She spoke to me from the heart at my wife Linda’s funeral on Dec. 8. We would see her and Ken on their visits to Heather and Jamie’s and our mutual grandchildren. They drove long distances to take part in Birthdays , Christmases and activities by their grandchildren like skating carnivals. I know her children and her grandchildren will feel a huge loss. I also believe she is safe and happy with our Lord in heaven in the company of family and friends who have gone before. To Ken , I feel your loss. Jim Hamill
