It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, who left us for his journey on March 01, 2021 at the age of 93. Loving husband of Phyllis (Nantais) for 71 years. Dear father and father-in-law of Sherril Cole, Tim Shephard, Dianne DeLima (the late Edward DeLima) and Steven Shephard (Michelle). Grandfather of 9; Micheal Cole, Krista Dutot, Chris DeLima (Lauren), Eric DeLima, Chelsey McCaw (Bryan), Danielle Shephard (Kyle Brown), Ryan Shephard, Sarah Shephard and Kate Shephard. Great grandfather of 9; Mercedes Cole (Blade), Dylan Cole, Cristian Cole, Cameron Dutot, Kody Dutot, Addyson Grace McCaw, Blair McCaw, Hailey McCaw and Octavia Brown. Survived by brothers-in-law Robert Nantais (the late Janice), Floyd Nantais (the late Jody), sisters-in-law Donna Nantais (the late Richard), and Doris O’Connor (the late Paul and Frank). Missed by many cousins, friends, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son-in-law Edward DeLima, James parents Orville and Bertha (Graham) Shephard and by his siblings, Maurice Shephard (Gertrude), Clifford (Harriett) Shephard, Kathleen Lester (Earl), Glenda Gorton (Floyd), Ellen Card (Bill), Raymond Shephard (Shirley), twin brother Roy Shephard and Nona (Gordon Davis).

Funeral Details
Following James wishes a private family visitation and service will be held at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden.

  1. My deepest condolences to all the family. Uncle Jim was a great man. He and mom spent a lot of time together until covid stopped all visits. She missed her little brother a lot. May he rest in peace.

  2. Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing, we worked for many years at Polymer and shared some rides together He was a good man.

  3. So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing! We used to love listening to Jim’s stories when he came to visit Dad.
    Our hearts and thoughts are with you as you remember your husband, father, and grandfather at this sad time. He will always be remembered as a hard-working, honest and respectable man.
