Thrower, Bruce

November 19, 1955 ~ April 19, 2026

SAM 2033It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce William Thrower on April 19, 2026, at the age of 70, following a short illness.

Bruce and his wife, Gail (McKay), shared 46 fantastic years together. He was incredibly proud of his children, Greg (Michelle) Thrower and Brooke (Chris) Herbert. Bruce was truly happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren: Lily, Charlotte, Preston, Payton, and Paisley.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Marion Thrower; his in-laws, Bruce and Maxine McKay; his brother, Gordon Thrower; and his sister, Linda White. He is survived by his brother Dave (Doris) Thrower and his brothers-in-law Ross White, Brian (Cynthia) McKay, and Dean (Liz) McKay, as well as his nieces and nephews: Marcia (Darcy), Steve, Michael, and Jessie (Hunter).

A proud “hard oiler,” Bruce loved being part of his community. He dedicated 41 years to Polysar as a Lab Technician and spent his retirement enjoying vacations with his family and friends.

Bruce was generous, loyal, and always ready to share what he knew with anyone who would listen. He’ll be remembered for his big heart and the genuine love he had for the people in his life. If you knew him, you knew exactly how much he cared. He will be dearly missed.

In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, please give your family a big hug when you think of him. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please consider St. Joseph’s Hospice http://www.stjosephshospice.ca or a charity of your choice.
