rsz_whiting_pic2 rsz whiting pic2WHITING, Robert “Ray” “Dick” – Age 75 of Petrolia, formerly of RR#2 Oil Springs, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Site, Petrolia. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Clark) Whiting for 50 years. Loving father of Debbie (Steve) Thorkildsen of Hamilton, John (Lucie) Whiting of Sarnia and Corey Whiting of Blind River. Cherished grandfather of Christie, Cassie, Katrina, Tianna and Sierra Thorkildsen and Michael Whiting. Survived by siblings Marion (Joe) McPhee, Gordon (Bernice) Whiting, Leslie (Karen) Whiting, Gloria (Jim) Matthews, Ross (Lindy) Whiting, Grace (Charlie) Whiting, Dr. Wilma (Wayne) Whiting and in-laws Ferne Whiting, Audrey (Ken) Farr and Cliff Zavitz. Predeceased by parents Howard Whiting and Blanche (nee Allingham) (Whiting) Brooks and siblings Carl Whiting, Shirley Zavitz, Frank Whiting and in-laws Judy (Clubb) Whiting and Howard McPhee. Ray was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local 1256. He farmed on the Dawn/Enniskillen Town Line for many years.
 

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm.


FUNERAL SERVICE

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00am from the New Life Assembly Church, 421 Oozloffsky Street, Petrolia. Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez and Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Interment to follow in Oil Springs Cemetery.

DONATIONS
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Oil Springs Cemetery Fence Restoration Fund or C.E.E. Hospital Foundation
