December 18, 1938 - February 10, 2017

WILSON-STRANGWAY, Joan “June” (Spirit of the Water) – Left this life February 10, 2017, remembering happy time with her husband, Bruce Strangway, daughters Deborah, Twila Wilson and Patti Jones as well as son-in-law Charlie Trainor. She is survived by brothers Pete and Camille and sisters-in-law. She enjoyed being grandma and great-grandma, aunt and friend. At June’s request there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation has taken place. A sacred fire has been lit prior to a private graveside service. Remember good times until we meet again.

  2. I was saddened to learn of your loss of June. I had the good fortune of meeting her as part of our work together with the Graves and Repatriation Committee at the Blue Water Bridge. I will always remember June as gentle, positive, fun,thoughtful and so wise. I was truly honoured when June included me in her naming ceremony at Aamjiwnaang.
    She was a lovely person. I feel lucky to have met her.
