Wright, Robert Cornelius

April 19, 1930 ~ September 15, 2021

WRIGHT, Robert Cornelius – Freed from the shackles of Alzheimer’s, Robert “Bob” Wright passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his residence Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia, Ontario. He was 91 years old. Bob was a devoted family man leaving behind his wife, Erma and their 3 daughters, Robin (Wayne) Walker, Barb (Jim) Hyatt and Bonnie (Barry) Kershaw. He was Grandpa to Wade, Leslie (Eric), Robbie, Luke, Dale (Ashley), Alana, Michael and Great Grandpa to Marleigh and Collin. He loved spending time with his grandchildren – the delights of his eye. He is also survived by his brother John (the late Addie) Wright, sister Annette (the late Elmer) Feltham and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Eber and Flora Wright, brothers Carman (Betty), Bruce (JoAnn) and Jim Wright. Bob was always willing to help out in a moment’s notice. He was a friend to all, a man of integrity, wisdom, a man of vision and a great listening ear. His career as an OPP officer (Chatham, Harrow and Petrolia) lead him and his family moving to Oil Springs in 1970 where they lived on a farm for many years. He was a community-minded man who always looked for opportunities to help his neighbours and volunteered over the years for Lambton Elderly Outreach and The Petrolia Lions. He loved playing baseball as well as coaching and became an avid golfer in his senior years. Although his decline due to Alzheimer’s over the last several years was difficult, he still had a smile for those around him. The family is very thankful to all the staff at Meadowview Villa and Dr. Mall for their care and compassion.

*Till we meet again in Heaven; we will miss you dearly Dad.*
