rsz_1blackstock_pic_1BLACKSTOCK, Blanche Marie – It is with heavy hearts that we announce Blanche Marie (nee Atkinson), of Petrolia, passed away peacefully at Lambton Meadowview Villa on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in her 85th year. She will be dearly missed by her best friend and husband Keith Blackstock for nearly 69 years. Loving mother of Dorothy (George) Mathers of Wyoming, Joyce (Ed) Allen of Hamilton and Shelley (John) Freer of Petrolia. Proud grandmother of Lynn Sharp, Janice Mathers, Wayne (Nikki) Mathers, Bradley (Janice) Allen, Joshua (Brenda) Allen, Jared Freer and Sarah Freer. Great-grandmother of Taylor Sharp, Spencer Sharp, Rayna Sharp, Hannah Mathers and Mason Allen. Great-great-grandmother of Jace Sharp. Survived by brothers and sisters Norman “Pete” (Jean) Atkinson, Betty (late Alex) Wilkins, Shirley (Tom) O’Brien, Tom (Joanne) Atkinson, Jean (late Patrick) Donaghy and Beverly (Ron) Clark. Sister-in-law of Neil (Jessie) Blackstock, Margaret (Bruce) Gray and late Eric (Alice) Blackstock. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Blanche (Anderson) Atkinson, siblings Dorothy Rand, Donald Atkinson, Harvey Atkinson, Margaret “Peggy” Johnson, Hazel Randall-Harper. Blanche was employed by The Sarnia Observer for over 43 years, delivering newspapers to stores, carriers and customers in the Petrolia, Brigden, Alvinston and surrounding areas.

VISITATION
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Monday, April 27, 2015 2-4 and 7-9pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Wyoming Cemetery.

DONATIONS
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Diabetes Association and Alzheimers Society.
