Kelly, Thomas

October 06, 1962 ~ February 26, 2018

Kelly, Thomas – age 55, of Windsor formally of Enniskillen Township, after a long and courageous battle with cancer went to heaven to be with his mother on Feb 26, 2018 at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Beloved son of Willard Kelly and the late Mary Kelly. Dear brother of Nancy Hamm (Eric), Jim Kelly (Shelley), David Kelly (Donna-Lee), Gary Kelly (Sharleen) and Brenda Hannon. Tom also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tom grew up on the farm in the Oil Springs area but his career led him to Windsor. Tom’s work was very important to him and the people he worked with were like his family. His attention to detail was well suited to his chosen path as a mold maker for Toolplas Systems, work which he took great pride in. Tom always spoke highly of his co-workers and company he worked for. Their kindness and compassion for Tom while he was sick was outstanding. The family would like to thank them for that! Tom chose to live life on his own terms and maintained that independence to the end. Regardless of his disease when asked he was always “doing okay”. We respect him for his strength.

Funeral Service details
At Tom’s request there will be no visitation. A private family and immediate friend’s graveside service will take place on March 6th at 1 pm at Oil Springs Cemetery.

  1. To Tom’s family I’m so so sorry..I truly am.. I feel so bad but I had lost touch with Tom some yrs ago..I really wish I’d maybe tried harder to find him but can’t do anything now.i mentioned how he took his first and I don’t know plane ride to Nashville to stay with me for a week..I took him as many places I could and he also if memory serves me right,I took him to the Recording studio to watch as I was doing a vocal on a song of mine and recall somewhat Tom being excited about being in that environment.. remember meeting him in highschool and asking him to come sit with us guys and from that day on he was ALWAYS a great great friend..also picking him up to go camping with us in grade 12 and Mrs Kelly was pleased that he was going with us…I’m sorry Tom..I’m so sorry.. Michael Ross

  2. So very sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. I worked with him on the same shift at ToolPlas Systems for several years and he was one of the hardest working people I have ever met. We were so happy that he kept in touch with us after he left due to his illness and we looked forward to seeing him continue to join us at shop events. I sat with him this past December at our shop Christmas party and I could tell he was tired, weak and not feeling well at all.. and yet he continued reassuring everyone that he was doing “ok”. He was a respected and appreciated member of our family and team. He never stopped fighting and he taught me some very important life lessons during his time here. I am very saddened to hear of his loss and will miss him.

  3. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Tom. Our deepest sympathies go to the Kelly family. Our paths have crossed many times on the shop floor at Toolplas and you will be missed. To the Kelly family and friends let there be comfort in knowing that the pain is gone. Rest In Peace
