STEPHENSON, Gordon Beverley – age 80 of Oil Springs passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday August 10, 2012. Beloved husband of Delta (Hands) Stephenson for 61 years. Loving father of Clarence, Point Edward; Alan (Marie), Oil Springs; Janice (Claude) Randall, Petrolia; Jim (Sally), Chilliwack, BC; Linda (Ron) Scales, Petrolia. Dear grandfather to Jennifer Snary, Bill, Mike, Phil, and Ann Stephenson, Nicole Nesbitt, Camilla Kerrigan, Nina Randall, Benjamin and Jessica Stephenson, Adam and Amanda Scales. He will be greatly missed by his 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Paul Alan Stephenson (1978), granddaughter Christine Lynn Stephenson (1994), parents Cyril (1967) and Isabella (Beveridge)(1978) Stephenson, sisters Florence (2000) (Francis, 2004) Anderson, Hilda (2007)(Colin) Wilson, Sandra (2000) (Wayne) Lennan, in-laws Clarence (1950) and Beulah (Norton) Hands (1987).
Following Gordon’s wishes, a private family visitation followed by a grave side service will take place with interment of ashes at Oil Springs Cemetery. The family invite friends to a social gathering at the Masonic Hall, 4581 Victoria St. Oil Springs on August 29th at 7:00 pm. Sympathy may be express through donations to the Oil Springs Cemetery Fence Restoration Project or the Oil Springs Fire Department.
