PictureSHARPE, Roy Kenneth Alexander – Age 91 of Stanley Line, Sombra passed away on August 09, 2025 at Bluewater Health-C.E.E. site, Petrolia. Beloved husband of Noella Sharpe (Platteeuw). Loving Stepfather of Micheal Scott of Alberta, Dianne Nevills Scott and Rickert Bischoff of Sarnia, Allan Scott of Brigden and Ian Scott of Sarnia. Special “Papa” of 3 wonderful Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.   He will be missed by his children by choice Penny (Geoff) Cox and Kody (Katie) Vandevenne and “Uncle Roy to Ila Marie (Gray) Van Waes. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Grace (Weese) and his 2 brothers. Roy a millwright by trade, grew up with baseball and farming, He maintained the Mooretown golf course for 21 years and he was a proud and dedicated member of the Lambton Plowmans association. He chaired the RV Park of the 1991 Lambton IPM and plowed in the 1991 and the 1973 IPM’s. Special thank you to the Staff in Petrolia continuing care especially Rebecca, Ashlyn and Jenna.  Cremation has taken place.

Funeral Service
Family and friends are invited to Roy’s happy place (his farm) for a short service and a “Plowman’s lunch” at 916 Stanley Line, Sombra Ontario N0P 2H0 on August 23rd, 2025, at 10:30 am. With internment to follow at Riverside cemetery 3164 ST. Clair Pkwy, Sombra. Casual dress and please bring a chair so you can sit in comfort during the short service. Please RSVP, if possible not mandatory so we can ensure everyone receives a plowman’s lunch as well as any dietary restrictions.

  1. On behalf of the members of the Lambton Plowmen’s Association, we extend our deepest condolences to Roy’s family. Many of us enjoyed our visits with Roy over the years and so many of us learned from him as well. We were privileged to call Roy a friend.

  4. Sorry to hear of Roy’s passing, H e was a good neighbour since I was a kid & tought me to ride the pony’s at there place,,, I. Plan on meeting family on the 23,,,,

My deepest condolences Noella and family….I enjoyed so many great chats with Roy over the years, especially on the combine….he was my first off farm job back in the early seventies and was a great inspiration and catalyst for me to serve our community and run for Council….may Gods hand of gentleness and peace be on you all at this time.
