IMG 4186BRADLEY, Betty Ilene – On Wednesday June 18, 2025, the way peacefully opened for Betty Ilene Bradley to join with dear loved ones in Heaven.  She was 86, lived her whole life in Dawn Township and the last few years at Bear Creek Terrace, Petrolia. Beloved wife of Bruce Bradley for almost 65 years. Loving mother of daughters, Patricia (Todd) Unsworth and late Karen (Donny) Kabbes (2015). Cherished Gramma of Joseph (Shelby) Unsworth, Jake (Tiffany) Unsworth, Jeffrey (Carlene) Kabbes and Luke (Hannah) Kabbes. Proud Great Gramma of Lyra Unsworth, Jaiden and Ava Unsworth, Joanie, Greta, Harvey and Clayton Kabbes and Kacey Kabbes holding a reserve of love in her heart for two great grandbabies coming in August. Dear sister of late Beverly (Cathy) Davis, Ila (Glen) Dawson and late Joyce (late Bill) Holmes and special sister-in-law of late Lois (Bill) O’Hara, late Earl (late Donna) Bradley and Elaine and Andy DeHaan. Predeceased by parents Everett and Hattie Davis. Betty was an accomplished teacher, pianist, seamstress, bookkeeper and associate groom at Bradley Stables where she and Bruce built a family hobby in standardbred horse racing. She treasured life on the farm and was a willing help with chores, baling hay, moving cattle from pasture to pasture and delivering food to the fields. She was a faithful member of Knox Dawn Presbyterian church and felt blessed to live in close proximity to her family including nieces, nephews, special aunts and uncles.

Funeral Details
Family and friends will be received at Steadman Brothers Funeral Chapels, Brigden on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of the service officiated by Pastor Tim Brown at 11:00am. A private family interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.

  6. Rest in Peace. Mrs. Bradley was a wonderful person, who inspired not only me to become a teacher but many students who attended Hillcrest Public School. Her positively was contagious. Over the years we connected
    She’d always ask about my siblings and parents, being part of. Community was important to her, it showed in her smile and friendly eyes. She will be missed.

    Such a sweet soul. I’ll always remember her at Hillcrest School when our oldest went for her first visit before the start of the new year of school.
    She was so kind and as I remember a little reluctant to retire. I tried to talk her into a few more years, as I was told what a wonderful kindergarten teacher she was.
    I so enjoyed the chats with her and Bruce telling him about that same daughter now just down the road from their farm.
