CODY BRIAN RACHER

It is with heavy hearts the family of Cody Brian Racher, age 20, of Petrolia (formerly of Brigden area) announce his passing on Tuesday November 4, 2008 at Bluewater Health Palliative Care. Cherished son of Brian and Jane (Pettit) Racher. Loving brother of Katie. Grandson of Dorothy and the late Francis (2005) Pettit, the late Ileen (Hyatt) (2006) and Sid McLean and the late Keith Racher (2004). Nephew of Bob and Nancy (Racher) Matheson, Larry and Diane, Sandra and Marny Pettit. Survived by several loving cousins. Special brother to Jesse Braswell and a great friend to many. Cody was born October 31, 1988. He was raised on the Pettit family farm until moving to Petrolia in 2004. While on the farm, he always enjoyed driving machinery of any kind and riding his dirt bike and four-wheeler. He graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College as a heavy equipment operator which led him to travel West to work. He battled with cancer since December 2007. He fought hard and long against this disease but now is at peace. He was truly loved and will be missed every day. Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Thursday November 6, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday November 7, 2008 at 2:00pm at Steadman Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Craig Rumble and Debra Ban officiating. Interment in Black Creek Cemetery.
