SIMON, Mary Jean Shaw (nee Andrew) – Age 93 of London passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at London Health Sciences – Victoria Campus. Born on October 20, 1923 in Sarnia, Ontario. Daughter of her predeceased parents John and Mary Andrews. Predeceased by husband Rudolph Simon. Survived by daughter Bonnie Darmanin and her husband Lee of Thamesford, Ontario and son Leonard Simon of Windsor, Ontario. Beloved grandmother of Blaine Duffield and wife Kelly.Mary Jean will be missed by great grandchildren Alex (Greg), Jarrod and Sara Duffield and Nichole and Lee Wm. Darmanin and Great-great grandchildren Sebastion and Theodore. Sister of Alicea Van Alstein of Florida, and many dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Bert (Ione), Albert (Orise), John Orlo, Alvin (Marion), Clifford, Lloyd, George, Walter, Leonard, Vera (Irvin), Elizabeth (Jack), Gladys (John, Wm), Berth (Gerald) and two stillborn sisters. Predeceased by son-in-law Gerald Duffield. Mary Jean was the youngest of 17 children and was fondly known to everyone as “M.J.” She was always young of heart with a zest for life. Mary Jean was a 2x cancer survivor and was loved and pampered by all of her nurses. She was a resident of Dearness Home in London, Ontario for 18 plus years.Mary Jean enjoyed working as a waitress, hospital dietician and P.S.W and was a lifelong member of the “Community of Christ” (RLDS).The Family of Mary Jean would like to thank all the staff at Dearness and Dr. McKeough- you are the best!Also a big thank you to Victoria Hospital 7A and her team Blue Doctors and to the Steadman Brothers Funeral Home for all their help and kindness to our family.

Funeral Service
A funeral service will be held at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, January 5th 2017 at 1 pm.

Cemetery
Interment to follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
