Whiting, Grace Eileen

April 29, 1954 ~ June 10, 2023

It is with overwhelming grief that we sadly announce the sudden passing of Grace Eileen Whiting (69) of Corkstown Road, Ottawa following a brief but devastating illness. She passed peacefully in the loving presence of Charlie Brimley, her partner of 31 years, and Wilma Whiting, her sister and lifelong closest friend.

Mourning her loss are the Whiting and Brimley families of Southern Ontario, the extended quilting community, and a multitude of friends across Canada and around the world.

Any person who has had the good fortune to have known Grace will have personal memories of a person with a feisty, jovial spirit, embracing a perpetual quest for knowledge and love of life.

Family and friends are invited to participate in any, or all of the following gatherings to commemorate the life of Grace Whiting:

Visitation at 12:00 – 2:00pm
Friday, July 7, 2023 at Steadman Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Service of Remembrance at 2:00pm
Friday, July 7, 2023 at Steadman Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Interment at 3:00pm
Friday, July 7, 2023 at Oil Springs Cemetery

Reception at 3:00pm
Friday, July 7, 2023 at Oil Springs United Church

In lieu of flowers, the family invite donations to:
St. Paul’s United Church – Petrolia Community Refrigerator Project or the charity of your choice.

Although physically absent, her spirit will continue to light the lives of all who knew her.

  1. Wilma, chub, I am heartbroken to here of Graces passing. I had the privilege of dating Grace for over a year, she was one of a kind, her outgoing personality was second to none. She is going to be missed
    My condolences to the Whiting and Brimley families, may she Rest in Paradise.

  2. Ross, Lindy and family, I have no words that I can express to take away from your sorry in the passing of Grace. May you remember all the smiles and love she radiated. She helped me through a dark period and I appreciate that her and Wilma help us all together. May she be at peace.
