THOMSON, William “Bill” Pryde Thomson – With gratefulness for the gift of knowing and loving Bill Thomson, the family shares that our loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa passed away at Bluewater Health in Sarnia surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the age of 93. Bill was born in Hamilton Scotland, marrying the love of his life, Nancy (nee Buntin) Thomson, in 1954 and enjoyed 69 years together before her passing in October 26, 2023. Loving father of Fiona, Stuart (Nancy) and Doug (Margaret) Thomson. Cherished grandfather of Philip (Alison Brown) Thomson, Trevor Thomson, Liam Thomson, Kirsten (Q Barker) Thomson, Sarah (Kevin) Vanhartingsveldt, Rebecca (Mojtaba) Zamani, Anne Jan, Miriam (Ben Taylor) Thomson, Esther (Dave) Witteveen, Robert (Samantha) Thomson, Eric (Brooke) Thomson and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother of Agnes “Nan” (Roy) Parkes and the late Marie (George) Buntin. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William Pryde Thomson and Janet (nee McLean) Thomson.
Bill was the kind of man who you wanted as a neighbour, always there to help where he could. When he went about town in Marathon, Ontario, it was like you were with a celebrity. Dad was a “jack of all trades” and taught us how to build, fix or maintain just about anything. Though he worked hard, he also believed in frequent tea breaks. Bill loved his wife for 69 years, and their love was one for the ages. He and Mom raised three children, who speak about him with respect, humour and love. He was kind, honest, and he loved a good laugh. He was an electrician by trade, by hobby a pilot, soccer coach, golfer, woodworker and volunteer and he loved a good pair of slippers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Our condolences to Bill’s family.
I got to know Bill when we worked together in the instrument shop in the Marathon Pulp mill.
For many years Bill and Nancy were a large part of our lives especially my mother’s – Rosemary Johnston.
He will be missed by all.
I’m very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. As a newcomer to Marathon in the 1980’s, both Bill and Nancy were welcoming and always took time to say hello and and chat a while. My wife, Kathy and I considered them as people of integrity and good friends.
Bill was such a nice gentleman and will surely be missed by his family & friends. Our sincere condolences go out to all of Bill’s family. May all your happy memories of your loved one help to comfort you. ❤️🙏🙏
