Passed away peacefully at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. Beloved wife of the late Earl Thompson (1995). Dear mother of Carol Haslip (Terry), Bruce Thompson (Chris), Bob Thompson, and Glenn Thompson (Jenifer). Remembered fondly by her grandchildren: Stacy (Mike), Shawn (Maggie), Aleasha (Tyler), Blair (Alanna), Sara (Johnny), Ian (Tahna), and Jamie. Cherished by her great-grandchildren: Makyla, Lexi, Amelia, Willow, Eleanor, Jack, Wesley, Rory, Ryan, Hudson, Reid, and Levi. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Sarah MacKenzie (1972); her infant sister, Hazel (1931); her brothers-in-law, Henry, Harold, and Arthur; and her sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Gladys, and Dorothy. Special sister-in-law to Margaret Daye. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was born and raised outside of Brigden, in the small hamlet of Cromar/Plum Creek. Her great-grandfather was one of the first settlers in Lambton County. Shirley often enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood and the close-knit community of neighbors, especially when going through old pictures. Shirley and Earl shared a love of travel, and she especially cherished the time spent with her family. Shirley was a active member of Brigden Untied Church and UCW, for many years. A special thank you to Dr. Daniel and the staff at Meadowview Villa for their compassion and exceptional care.
